The safety and security of your possessions is important to us, and you can't store without contents insurance. That's why at Alligator Self Storage we do everything we can to make sure your things safe and secure when you store with us.
We provide two options for insuring the contents of your storage unit:
1. Using your household insurance
Your own home contents insurance may cover your goods while they are in storage.
You may already be covered under your own home contents insurance, as some providers cover goods whilst in storage. You will need to bring a confirmation letter from your insurance provider with you when you set up your account with us. Please check read the Insurance Policy Requirements if you would like to use your own contents insurance.
Please note we do not accept third party insurance.
2. Using insurance through Alligator Self Storage
We will be happy to arrange insurance for you, with a new for old insurance policy, which is specifically designed for self storage and covers a wider range of potential perils than is covered on normal household insurance. Our insurance is also approved by the Self Storage Association. The cost of insurance is based on the value of your goods, so please get in touch for more information on pricing.
Actual physical loss of or damage to our customers’ property caused by fire, lightning, explosion, earthquake, aircraft or articles dropped there from, storm, flood, bursting &/or leaking pipes, ingress of water or other liquid substance, moth, insect or vermin from an external cause, theft accompanied by forcible and violent entry to or exit from the building or storage unit, riot, strike, civil commotion, malicious damage, and impact by vehicles or railway rolling stock. Remember, you'll need to update your insurance cover if the value of the contents in your storage unit changes, it could save you money!
