• Self storage is very much like a hotel for your belongings.  Large buildings are fitted out with a variety of different sized rooms where you can store your belongings for as long as you need to.  You have your own room, secured with your own padlock so you control who has access, as well as the ability to come and go as you need to, during our opening hours.
  

How much will self storage cost?

• The cost of self storage is dictated by the size of room you need.  Our "Get A Quote" form will provide you with instant online prices. 
  

How do I make sure I get the best value for money?

• If you discuss your requirements with one of our storage experts, they will always make sure you get the best value for money.  We offer advice on how to pack your room to make the best use of space, ensuring you rent the smallest space possible.  The fact you can increase or decrease the amount of space rented at any time means you only pay for the storage you actually need.

Why should I reserve now?

• Our self storage prices available instantly online allowing you to reserve your room by simply paying a £20.00 reservation fee/deposit.  This guarantees your storage room, ready for you to occupy when it suits you.  It also allows you the flexibility to change the size of room depending on your needs.  If you do happen to find a better comparable storage offer, let us know & we promise to beat it!

What are the rooms like?

• Constructed of steel, our rooms and lockers are clean, dry and totally secure.  For customers storing files, we can install shelving systems to ensure the most efficient use of space and organisation.

How secure are the storage facilities?

• Very.  All of our centres are fully protected by 24hr monitored digital security, PIN code access systems, extensive CCTV and central station linked alarms: peace of mind when you are storing your worldly belongings!

How do I go about renting a storage room?

Renting a self storage room couldn't be simpler: handy when you are dealing with a stressful home or office move.

• Reserve your room today so its ready for you to move your items into whenever you need to: use our "Get A Quote" form to reserve your room for £20.00 in four simple steps.
  
• Make arrangements for transporting your items to our storage centre and purchase any boxes and/or other packaging materials you might need.
• On the day of your choice, arrive at the storage centre with your belongings and report to reception.  A member of staff will show you to your room and complete the necessary paperwork with you; after which, you will be free to use the room as you wish.

How can I pay?

• The majority of our customers pay via Direct Debit but you can also pay by cash or credit/debit card (please note: we do not accept American Express).  If paying by cheque, a valid cheque guarantee card will be required.

Are my goods insured while in storage?

• Due to the fact you rent your own room, you are responsible for the items stored within it, and they MUST be insured. 
  
• We require that all domestic storage customers take out adequate insurance cover using the Alligator Self Storage policy, available solely through us: no storage contract will be entered into by us unless this insurance policy is also taken out.  Please note that no form of insurance policy other than the Alligator Self Storage Policy will be accepted by us.
• We require business customers to arrange, prior to bringing the Goods onto the Site, to take out adequate insurance in respect of the Goods under a policy which covers at least Normal Perils (as set out below) with a reputable insurance company and will not cause or allow that insurance cover to lapse whilst the Goods or any of them remain on the Site and you acknowledge that you shall be responsible for all uninsured risks including Normal Perils.

When can I access my storage room?

• Whenever you like, during our extensive opening hours - please check your local storage centre for specific access times.
• 24 hour/Extended access is available from selected storage centres, on request only. Charges may apply

How long can I rent my storage room for?

• You decide.  You can rent your storage room for a few weeks or as long as you like.

What do I need to bring with me when I arrive?

• Please see our handy Move-in Check List page which lists everything you need to bring with you on the day you decide to move your belongings into storage.  You can also download / print a version of this list if required.

Will there be lots of paperwork to deal with?

• We ensure any paperwork is kept to a minimum (moving is stressful enough!) and only takes approximately 10 minutes to complete.  Please make sure you bring everything listed on our Move-in Check List to prevent any administrative delays.

Can you help me move in?

• We aim to offer an all-round service and are more than happy to suggest trusted, local removal companies, as well as other transport options depending on how much help you might require.

Are there any restrictions on what I can store?

• You can put pretty much anything into storage provided its not living, hazardous or illegal!  For a full list of restricted items, please see Clause 8 of our Storage Terms & Conditions.

If my storage needs change, can I transfer to a smaller/larger room?

• Of course.  We fully appreciate requirements change so you can transfer at any time throughout your stay.

Do you sell boxes and packaging?

• We offer a full range of boxes and other essential packaging materials which have been specifically designed with storage in mind: our boxes can be stacked ensuring you make the best use of space within your storage room.  Our packaging materials are available for anyone to purchase but our storage customers can take advantage of a 10% discount.

Understanding Our Storage Prices

At Alligator, we already offer the most competitive, modern and user friendly storage centres throughout the UK, and would always rather you store with us than anyone else.
We always aim to provide storage solutions which give our customers the best value for money, we regularly check our prices to ensure we remain the most competitive self storage provider in the UK.
We are confident we already offer the best value for money storage deals however, if you have been quoted cheaper elsewhere then let us know: we won’t just match it, we’ll beat it*!

• To reserve a room, you pay a £20.00 reservation fee/deposit.
• The £20.00 fee/deposit is deducted from your 1st invoice - this is not an extra cost.
• By booking your storage room online, you are automatically entitled to our special 10% online discount which is applicable for the duration of your stay.
• The % discount is deducted from our standard book price and will be detailed within your quote.
• Any FREE periods offered within your quotation (e.g., 1st Month FREE) are only applicable for the initial discount period, normally 2months.
• After your initial discount period your on-going rental charge will revert to:
• If your room was reserved online: standard book price minus 10%.
• If you made your reservation in person: standard book price.
