The V festival hit the Midlands this weekend, with around 85,000 fans to see different acts including Rhianna, Jessie J, Kaiser Chiefs, Eminem and Bruno Mars. Jessie J who performed with a pink cast after ligament damage told fans ‘I couldn’t let you down’. Kaiser Chiefs’ drummer Nick Hodgson informed the Birmingham Mail they still get nervous before they perform.
This was a weekend filled with a diverse range of music from Eminem rapping, to the 2009 X factor winner Olly Murs. Headlining was the Arctic Monkeys, and fans reacted well to the sounds from their new album! Rhianna and Eminem performed their duet, Tinie Tempah, Bruno Mars and the Kaiser Chiefs worked up the crowd, so it was a good weekend by all accounts.
The music festival craze is growing year on year with more and more people wanting to camp in a muddy field for the entire weekend, listen to their favourite acts, and fully appreciate the “festival experience”
Before a festival begins there is a significant amount of planning: by both festival producers and festival goers. What tent will be purchased? Will it be expensive, or will it be one of the abandoned tents left in the campsite at the end of the festival? As for the production side of things; where will the stages be set up, what lighting and sound combinations will be used to showcase the performers in their best light, where can they be stored when not in use, what about the vendor stalls to keep revellers hydrated and fed?
Self storage is the perfect option for both campers and the business side of festivals. If you are an avid festival goer, tents, wellies, and anything else you require to enjoy the festival season can be stored safely in your storage room. Renting a storage room will keep your wellies and your tent clean, dry and secure until its festival time of year again; after all, a significant amount of money will likely be spent on the equipment itself so its worthwhile making sure its stays in good condition.
As for the business side, self storage can also be an effective method of ensuring staging and all associated equipment is stored safely until it’s time for the next festival or gig requires. For the V Festival, Birmingham is a sensible choice for any production company to store stage and lighting equipment. Not only is there a variety of storage centres to choose from, Birmingham’s location is ideal for any UK based music festival
