Back to School Storage

It’s approaching mid-August, which can only mean one thing ... the kids will soon be heading back to school: parents are counting down the days.  There will be shopping trips for school uniforms, lunch box, and of course they will need a new backpack.  There will be tantrums, fights and disagreements: blood, sweat and tears will be shed during this ordeal.  But what happens to last year’s clothes, bags and other essential school accessories?  You could put them in the attic, much like everything else, you could put them in a charity shop or, utilise the option of self storage.

Sunny days are becoming fewer and farther between, the days are getting wetter and colder, and the need to occupy children on days like this becomes ever more apparent.  Board games and TV programmes have been exhausted; ideas are running thin on how to keep them entertained until the new school term starts.



Why not ‘play’ a game of tidy up.  There are loads of old ‘things’ kept in the attic, or under beds which may be deemed ‘important’ or kept for sentimental value.  Old clothes are up in the attic along with outgrown toys, dolls and board games.  This is in addition to the kid’s baby clothes; baby accessories and their childhood memories.

Playing the ‘tidy up’ game, you can reminisce about the kids when they were babies... when they didn’t talk back, or argue.  Digging through the memories of days gone by can serve several functions; by having a clear out, it can not only be fun, there is lots of family time involved. 

Piles can be arranged by what is getting kept in the house, what may be given away, all the ‘stuff’ which is broken or not needed, and then there can be a new pile for self storage.
