Gary Flying the Flag for Portsmouth

Flying the flag for our Portsmouth storage facility is Gary: below is an overview of the wonders of Mr Marshall.

Gary Marshall, the facility manager, has lived in Portsmouth most of his life and runs the storage branch single-handed which is located by the Mountbatten Centre just off the M275.  He has been working at the branch for 3 and a half years now, and has seen a lot of customers come and go.  He always has a cheery smile on his face, ready for any customers who may come in to the office. He loves the interaction and banter with the storage customers visiting the branch on a regular basis: many of whom are larger than life characters, and always have many a tall story to tell.

When not running the storage facility, you will probably find Gary either relaxing at home watching science fiction series and movies, or on his laptop, and quite often… both!  At the weekend he does like to dine out with his girlfriend, which in the summer may well mean a picnic somewhere quiet, a trip to Nandos, or even a bag of chips down on the seafront: or if he really wants to push the boat out, a foot long BMT from Subway, which is his favourite, as long as there is no sweet corn in it!

Gary hasn’t always worked within the storage industry, previous to working at the Portsmouth branch, he ran a team of agents for a well known satellite TV company trying to fix faults with customers’ broadband (and there were a huge number of problems to sort).  Before that, he was a manager of a charity retail furniture store.  Both of these jobs have contributed skills to helping him fill the storage facility to near bursting point using his ability to deal with people: namely listening to them to find out their exact needs to allow him do his best providing the ideal storage solution.

“The last 3 months have been amazing here with so many new customers moving in. New businesses starting up and needing storage space for stock, people moving from one home to another and needing storage to keep their furniture safe and secure whilst they are between homes, people moving abroad and putting everything in storage and letting their homes unfurnished.  The diverse customer base always amazes me, but one thing they all have in common, is that they know their possessions are very secure at the Portsmouth facility, and if they need to, they can access them at any time of the day or night.  The customers love storing here, and best of all, I love working here.”
