After her very public sacking from the American X Factor, it is time for poor Cheryl to come home to Britain. Cheryl had to try and change things about herself, to fit into the American celebrity scene – she refused elocution lessons to change her accent, but she did try and change her wardrobe: albeit sometimes questionably. The outfit she wore to one of her first public appearances in the states – purple flares and an orange frilly top – did nothing to persuade the Americans that Cheryl could be their new sweetheart. Her big hair was the cherry “on top” of a bad look according to some critics. 
Such an outfit may not be one that Cheryl would like to keep – many speculate it was the straw that broke the camel’s back with regard to her sacking – so what is she to do with it? It would be a safe bet to say there would be plenty of other outfits that Cheryl would be able to wear state-side but not here in the UK: largely down to our blustery climate. Strolling through London wearing the spotty Sonia Rykiel mini dress she wore for US X factor auditions would look out of place, purely because shivering uncontrollably would perhaps ruin the look. Cheryl might therefore consider self storage for her extensive wardrobe, which some experts value it at £400,000. Indeed it would actually be a wiser choice; self storage is secure, whereas Cheryl, and her then husband Ashley, were actually victims of a burglary. Security, and the flexibility to change the staples in your wardrobe at the “drop of a hat” (sorry!) is by no means exclusive to celebrities. Give its cost effective nature, self storage is a feasible solution to ladies from all walks of life who just want to be more efficient when it comes to coping with their every changing (and expanding!) collections of clothing.
They say a week in politics is a very long time and the same could be said of the celebrity world. Cheryl may have messed up her chances in America this time but at the age of 27 there is still plenty to come. Another move stateside could beckon in the future in which Cheryl may want to dip back into her wardrobe – admittedly not for “statement” pieces, but for everyday chic. Angelina Jolie has admitted that away from the cameras she wears the same jeans and t-shirt every day. Cheryl could raid her clothes in self storage for an everyday look in LA in the future, perhaps bolstering appeal as she would not be seen to be trying too much, and would nail the effortless looks frequently adopted in LA by the likes of Jennifer Aniston and Eva Longoria.
